More specifically, I am looking to do an industry analysis of the software publishing industry. But I am having a hard time finding free information. Any suggestions?

Is there any free software which allows you to create a website from your desktop?
By that I mean, you don’t have to go online or connect to the WWW until you’re ready to publish.
I use MS Publisher (not free… but came with my PC)… but I find it extremely basic, and unable to do many things.
If you have any suggestions, please add a link (I’m assuming anyone who can make a website can make a link). No trials please… I can’t afford to buy anything. ONLY SHAREWARE & FREEWARE.
Also, If you have any links to good tutorials for MS Publisher… please add them. I may need to make do with what I have.

The webpage application is freeware, the seo tools arent (search engine optimization), but it’s an excellent web dev suite.
