Your Questions About Publishing Software Online

Carol asks…
For Office Experience, what qualifies as ‘Software’ or ‘Micro Computer’?
I’m trying to do a job application, and there’s this section on Office Experience.
It has a ‘Software‘ field,
then a ‘Micro Computer’ one, followed by an Other field.
Is it any different, if I place some MSOffice programs in one or the other? If MSOffice skills go into “Micro Computer”, would that mean that ‘Software‘ is for some specialized programs?
Some of what I’ve written:
Software: SQL Server 2005
Micro Computer: Ms Office 2007 suite: Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Groove. scanning, printing, file management, web publishing skills
I did try looking that up and came up with these results online:
“Microcomputer skills include MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)”
” knowledge of microcomputer software including but not limited to MS-DOS, wordprocessing, spreadsheets, business graphics, modem communication and data base management software; of microcomputer hardware including but not limited to processors, disk drives, printers and modems.”
Thanks in advance : 3
*********Okay, I sent in the form; I hope it goes well, then. ![]()
I kept processing/spreadsheet/ file management stuff in Micro Computer, and put specialized software in Software, and misc related things in Other.
That could be okay.

I have reached a road block with a book im writing and need to find a local editor. Im hoping there are is some one out there who has published soemthing that can tell me where to look for an editor. Im not interested in the online editing companies who just use software..I need a human.

admin answers:
Hope you have some moolah. Most good, professional editors are going to cost you. Check your local library for ideas on where to go. Wish I could help you more but you give no indication of where you’re at.

Chris asks…
HOW DO I PUBLISH A WEBSITE?
I have bought a domain and hosting account for a website and I am trying to get it up and running but I am new at this. I have used various publishing software and I get the same result. Whenever i try to publish to my URL, brokesmoke.com, it doesn’t go through. there is just the hosting websites default “under construction” page. see for yourself. but i know its not like a faulty connection or anything because it actually uploads to the online directory. i can go to ftp.brokesmoke.com and view all my content after i log in. how do i make this website public? please help.

admin answers:
Once the name servers have been set up, it can take up to 48 hours for the servers to pick up and list your doamin name’s URL. Just checked it and it looks like it is up and running now:
