im a NEWBIE student programmer and i want to learn not just how to write programs but also how to publish it. unfortunately i dont have any idea how to do it? can anyone tell me what books to have?

Java programs are usually distributed as .jar files. As stated in a previous answer, a tool like NullSoft (nsis.sourceforge.net) will convert them into a executable installer file.
